1986 Isuzu Trooper 2.3 Gas Engine Running Too Fast

I just installed a new battery and water pump on my 1986 Isuzu Trooper and it runs at 3000 RPM with no throttle applied. It seems like a problem with the throttle shaft being misaligned or stuck. Can anyone help with this?

This truck idled way too fast before the water pump and battery replacement. Just wanted to clarify that fact.

I checked where the throttle cable hooks up to the throttle shaft. The mechanism does not seem to be held open by any adjustment screw. Is it possible that the throttle shaft is twisted internally in relation to the external linkage? Could there be two parts to the shaft that are now misaligned?

Bend your throttle bracket until it idles around 1000 rpms.

Follow the throttle cable to the throttle body, there should be an idle adjuster screw somewhere.

Whats oil pressure on 3.1 isuzu

4psi idle (bad) and revving to 3k does what, you didnt say.
what was idle RPM 800 or 400>?
the answer is different by hot and cold oil
and oil type, no type stated (do not say brands) 10w30?
running 0w are you>?
and is as low as 8psi hot. at idle ,that is if idle speed is at spec.
is it?
and 3000 rpm would be like 25psi hot, and more cold.
the max pressure will be the pump regulator value.

here is the sensor spec.

The sensor closes when the oil pressure drops to between 4-7 psi (28-48 kPa).

the oil type and bearings clearances (in total) dictate pressure.

3,1 CPC engine spec is.

88 Isuzu Trooper 2 lost power to the pump. Installed a new pump, sock , filter and relay in the fuse panel. Still have no power! Can you help?

I would suspect either a bad plug- in at the pump or a bad power wire. Run a wire from the battery direct to the pump. If it runs, attach the wire under the hood to something that only has power with the key on and put an in-line fuse into it. Hope this helps.

I have a 2001 Isuzu Trooper and when I turn on the air conditioning the engine quits, what could be the problem?

AC pump seized up, or alternator not producing enough power to run it. Loose battery terminal connections or ground cable. Try turning the pump by hand when the engine is not running. You should be able to turn the end of it.

Checkmate. You have trash at the Bottom of that tank and will have to Drop it to stop Dropping Cash on Fuel Pumps and Injectors. There is not a lot of other Options that you have not Explored already.

Will not idle at proper rpm

Try squeezing the fleixible fuel line before it gets into the fuel rail with the appropriate tool and see if the RPMs drop if they do either the pressure relief valve has failed or the fuel return line is blocked.Obviously you dont completely squeeze the line shut but only that you are taking some of the pressure out of the fuel rail allow enough fuel through to keep vehicle running. Its a cheap way to eliminate a potential cause for your problem.Excess pressure could be over powering the injectors. Are the injectors in a good servicable condition?
