your car doesn't have a carbuterer, its fuel injected with a throttle body, and starter fluid id not a good idea, better to check for spark, fuel pressure and injector signal , one of them is missing

I have a 98 Mercury Grand Marquis. Won't start

Check in the trunk and push the button on the Inertia switch. It should be on the drivers side of the trunk.

If this does not help, get a fuel filter and change it. If you can possibly get a fuel sample from the disconnected gas lines do it.

The new 10% gasohol will separate if it stands a few months. You may need to add fresh gas with a drying chemical like "Heet".

I drove my car for about 90 miles, returned home. My 92 mercury marquis sat over night- now it turns over, has fuel but wont start.Help

If you get down to basics, it takes fuel, spark, and compression for an engine to run. If you are SURE you are getting fuel into the cylinders(injectors are spraying fuel), then it probably has no spark. Most likely and ignition module. Don't assume your getting fuel into the cylinders just because you have fuel pressure to the test port, that's only half the trip to the cylinders. The igniton has to tell the computer to open and close the injectors.

How to relieve fuel system pressure before changing fuel filter on 2007 mercury grand marquis

The best way is to let the car sit for an hour. Some fuel will leak, that is normal. Either way fuel will come out, just not as bad.
