Bad O2 sensors will not cause the vehicle to die, but your vehicle could have a problem with the Mass Air Flow Sensor. A bad one will cause your problem.

This may be another problem, a bad O2 sensors wouldn't normally cause you car to cut off. Don't guess with this vehicle have it put on a computer, I would recommend an Auto Zone store they will check for free. I would be more than glad to help you out when you get it check first to find code.Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

My 1995 chevy s10 idols fine until engine warms up. Given gas it lugs down and dies. Changed fuel pump&filter, tps, cps, oil pressure switch,Vaccumm lines. Had it scanned. All that showed was bad relay.

You will need to have the computer scanned and monitor the data stream to see what is happening. The 02 sensor info will let you know if the engine is over/under fueled and what may be causing it. Throwing parts at it by just guessing gets expensive. The data stream, if viewed by a trained technician, will reveal any problems that may be causing your problem

Removed catalytic converter. Replaced 2-02 sensors. Now heavy pre ignition fire and lose of power. ????

Hi Shane without the cat in place the 02 sensors are reading exactly the same volume and temperature this confuses the ECU and it will not supply the correct fuel air ratio. The UP stream 02 sensor reads the condition of the gasses direct from the engine. While the DOWN stream reads the gasses that have been cooled and cleaned by the cat. The ECU changes the mixture according to the info it reads. If you really don't want a cat in it try it with the DOWN 02 sensor out of the exhaust system screw one of the old ones into the pipe to block the hole. Then plug the good one in and tie it up some where safe. This might fool the ECU into thinking the cat is doing a great job. Regards Jim...

I have a 1996 Geo Tracker 1.6 motor and it has a orange spark and will not start, I changed out the whole distributor and nothing changed, it was running fine besides if you pushed hard on gas it would bog...

You have probably torched the catalytic converter (they actually melt and become plugged up). No air flow now. Best way to check is pull the pre/foward 02 sensor. This will give breathing room for the engine. Also take out the air filter for good measure. Just remember, a one inch hole( the size of the 02 sensor, doesn't make up for the 2 inch hole for the exhaust). You will still have drivability problems. This may solve your problems, but there also could be more. Like , why did it melt to begin with?

First not to be hurtfull but find a good repair facility and scan for codes FIRST. Then have all code related issues PROPERLY repaired. You can not pass inspection in most states with check eng light on. Again it comes on for a reason. I hope you replaced the 02 sensor IF that was an issue. Second you have now gotten another or multiple things to troubleshoot. There is no excuse for driving with check eng light on and hopefully no harm done. The 02 sensor will hurt your mileage and a rich condition will ruin your converter and cost you

Fuel problem

I had the same problem with my 99 Subaru Forester and it was caused by oil leaking and getting into the spark plugs. We only needed to remove & clean one of the plugs and then we were running smoothly again. Very well could not be what your problem is but it's worth a shot mentioning.
