Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine and at the engine you will find the thermostat in a housing. When replacing it make sure the spring goes twoard the engine. It should be fairly easy, only two bolts. Make sure the engine is cold for your saftey. I am sure you knew that, but I don't like leaving that part out. There have been accidents. Good luck!!

Heater in truck blows either cold air or no air.

It sounds like you have air trapped in the cooling system. Try filling the radiator and coolant reservoir cold. Then leave the radiator cap loose and run engine at 1500 rpm until it warms up and the thermostat opens. Make sure heater is on full warm setting.

Heater gets just a little warm

follow the two rubber hoses from the firewall to where they connect to the motor. disconnect them and flush through both of them. whichever one you start with first dont point the empty hose at you becuz the water will be coming out of it.

follow the large hose from the top of the radiator to where it claps to the engine. unclamp it, remove the nipple it was clamped to and there will be the thermostat
