Headlights on 05 Town & Country won't turn on.

When I turn the knob the dash lights and lights on back of van turn on but the headlights don't. After turning the knob between 4 and 8 times the lights will turn on.

I have a 05 dodge Caravan and I am having the same problem. It started shortly after I purchased it I have had it back into the dealership about 6 times. They keep replacing the BCM (Body control module) but this has failed to fix the issue .... 6 times .... I have been using the information in the these forums to compile a list of what the solutions could be to give to ym mechanic. Have yet to get resloved. Vehicle goes back to the dealership in the morning ....

Same problem, but it appears to have become worse over time. When I first started having an issue with my headlights it was that they wouldn't turn on until the second time I turned the switch. Two days ago, my headlights went completely off while I was driving. I previously had the body control module replaced (5 times) but for a different problem and while my van was still under warranty. I don't think I am even going to bother taking it to my mechanic because it doesn't seem like he will be able to figure it out either. I think it may be time to trade in for a foreign car.

On a 08 town and country van why do the headlights go out as you're driving

Sounds like a short some where. Vehicles are made so if the lights have a short they will go out and back on for a few seconds for safety getting off the road. They come on to stay when it cools down then goes out when it heats up.

Headlight do not work on 2005 crysler town &country

Sounds like you may have a bad multifunction switch. I can help you figure this out but you will need a test light or voltmeter and a couple of jumper wires. You will also need to be able to remove the steering column cover to gain access to the switches electrical connectors.

If the above is possible let me know and I'll be happy to help.

When I turn on the lights only the side yellow lights come on not the headlights. If I jiggle the light switch sometimes the headlights will come on. Can I get and install the part myself?

HI it sounds like the switch has gone bad I have also had a few ov these vans melt the conector on the back of the switch. you can get the switch and replace it yourself not a bad DYI job.
