Question about 1994 Mazda 323

2 Answers

Battery Spec I bought a battery for my 1997 Mazda 323 Astina 5-dr hatch, it is a 12V battery however the cold-crank start is 420 (something like that) and my car instruction manual says it needs to be 12V and have a cold crank start of 380. Can I still fit this battery in my car or will there be too much power coming from the battery. The battery I bought is the same for the models of 1990-1996 and 2000-2005 mazda models.

There never to mush battery coming from battery its 12volt the bigger the battery that mean more storage in the battery no need to put a huge battery the alternator can only charge 75% of its capacity if its a 100 amp alternator that mean it can charge only 75amp so even if you put a huge battery it never gonna be full charge so if our battery have same dimention no problem it fit you just had a nice battery charging system course please give a fixya if you feel my answer explain our post thanks pierre

This is normally under the dash on the drivers side. If you have the replacement part in hand it will help you identify it.

1988 mazada 323 hatch back won't start. starter is good. battery, connections are good. when i turn the key i here the start click. i took it to autozone to be tested and came back good.

Could it be the engine is locked up? Try turning crank with socket wrench each way a little to see if locked. If so, remove all spark plugs and try again. Still locked?

Battery for 1997 Mazda 323 Astina 5dr hatch

It's fine to use a battery with a higher cold crank rating than original. Consider the rating in the manual to be a minimum requirement. You'll be fine as long as the physical dimensions and terminal placement are compatible with your car. The battery manufacturer's guide should tell you which battery fits your car.
