Question about 1999 Honda Accord

99 Honda Accord problem... Please Help :( !

I just bought a 1999 Honda Accord and its in great condition. It has 100,000 miles on it and it had one owner. The car fax shows the car was always brought to a honda dealer for all maintenance for the entire 10 years. The first day i got the car after driving for a few miles the D4 light starting flashing and there was a clicking noise that sounded like the signal. Also at the same time i had the heat on and that light was flashing as well. And the rpm arrow. It shut off then happened again after a few minutes. I looked in the manual and it said when the D4 light flashes its a transmission problem. The car drives perfectly fine though. I brought it to get a diagonistics check and no codes came up. I went twice and no codes. The past two days i have driven the car there was nothing flashing and nothing happened at all out of the ordinary. I dont know what to do! I only have a 30 day warranty on the engine and transmission. It took me a while to save for this car. Ugh i cant believe this is happening, any advice would be great :(

What mileage or duration should I change the transmission oil of my 1999 Honda accord (HONDA ACCORD 1999)

My Accord V6 '99 has over 215,000. You can use synthetic transmission oil if its zr1 compatible. I change mine every 60,000 or so. Its 3 qts for the v6. The nissan maximas are the ones that have transmissions that generally dont last past 120,000 miles. Why do you still see many 98 and 99 accords still on the road Carlos?
If yours went at 70,000 than you need to buy a haynes manual and keep up with the maintenance on your car. By the way. Honda Accords are notorious for running fine after 200,000 miles. The parts are easy access and if you use a cheap obd2 scanner you can zero in on any problem with the car.

WHEN DO I NEED CHANGE THE TIMING BELL

Have it inspected, when it shows signs of wear or damage replace it. I've inspected timing belts with 75,000 miles that were going bad, and ones with 180,000 miles that were fine and just needed to be retensioned. If you want to be on the safe side have it changed around 100,000 miles. It also can depend on the climate where you live, if your in the desert have it inspected more often than in humid climates, things dry out allot faster in desert like conditions. Especially belts and hoses or anything that contains rubber.

What mileage does the timing belt need to be changed

In areas not subject to large temperature fluctuations or harsh weather conditions at 90,000 miles. In areas subject to freezing conditions on a regular basis it is recommended at 60,000 miles.

I have my manual for my 98, let me know what engine & I'll give you what Chrysler recommends. Driving habits & conditions make a difference too. Normal is schedule A, severe is schedule B. Severe as in lots of stop & go, cold temperatures, short trips, dusty roads etc.
