More than likely it is a fuse located in the fuse panel in the car but you could have one blown under the hood where there are other fuses.

Jeep grand Cherokee lights come on but all the dashboard gages doesn't read right thay read that the car has nothing on

lights come on, what lights? 50 lamps on car, which?
gauges dead.
so you blew one of 2 cluster lights.
no year car stated. so cant wax smarter.
cars are different by year, model, engine, size(trans), and country
non of which are even hinted.

in all cases, check fuse first.
if it keeps blowing that is another matter (shorts)

My dashboard lights dont work

Have someone check fuse under dashboard. Some dashboards have lights wired in series. If one light goes out, they all go out.

My dashboards lights and gages aren't working

You may want to check to see if you have a "gauges" fuse on the fuse panel. Another possibility is the cigarette lighter fuse. Sometimes they're wired on the same circuit.

Hope this helps! :)

  • For the cluster light fuses see my diagrams below.
  • Under dash fuse panel diagram. See location of fuse in red in diagram 7.5 Amp.

  • In car fuse/relay box.

My fuel gauge and dashboard light will not work why and how do i fix this

Check your fuse box. look at the diagram on the fuse box cover to find the fuse for your dashboard gages and pull out the fuse. look at the center of the plastic part of the fuse. if the small metal bridge is broken replace the fuse

1995 grand am no dash lites or gages but fuse ok

If you have no dashboard lights or instrument lights , you must check two fuses . The taillight fuse feeds the instrument light fuse . If you checked the instrument lights fuse and it is good , check the taillight fuse . Regarding the gauges , the gauge fuse is the only one that feeds them .

Yes, just removed #17 fuse and reinstalled and everything returned. Maybe bad connection, or maybe something was drawing current and that's it's function, (cut power) but it just didn't reset? (Owner's manual lists one function of Circuit #17 as "Battery Saver')
