Question about 1993 Dodge Caravan

I am driving on the freeway, when I slow down to exit it dies

"I am driving down the freeway then I slow down to take an exit and the van dies. I have to cost off the road and stop, let it sit for a minute then it will start again and we can go."

    I have taken the van in to have it looked at, they didn't know what it was because it hadn't happened for them. They thought it could be a sensor. Any other ideas. Wouldn't they have found cracks, and my husband is somewhat car handy and changed the cap and did other maintance.

    Sounds like when I had to replace my mass air flow sensor in my 95. Had same issue.

Check the distributor coil, cap, rotor etc. Check for cracks on all of them.

    Yes, it could be a sensor. A trouble code will reveal more of what the problem might be.

some also have a transmission computer on the firewall that interfer with driving down the road if they go bad it will cause vehicle to downshift and go slow and then go no where until it cools down then it will crank and go again.

Shifts from 1st to 3rd but not 4th.

I doubt it. I think your tranny is gonna need something ore than that if it made a snapping noise...:(

RPM turns with no speed. Especially when i hit brake.

My mazda mvp van keeps dying on me while in motion. It used to just die when I had been driving fast like freeway driving only and then coming into town and braking or slowing down. Now it is dying out of...

try replacing the fule filter and useing gas treatment to clean up injecters. also get a tuneup.i have had simaler probs with mine and have had success with these steps.
