Mine did the same thing... one night it went off and did not stop even after hitting the horn. The horn eventually burned out.

Exact same thing happened to me. I had to remove the fuse before it would go off. Any of you find the problem?

You just let the horn "burn out"? I feel badly for your neighbors! I've had the same problem. I had to remove the fuse both for the alarm and the horn. Problem solved but now I have no horn or alarm. :

Just voluntarily fire the alarm off yourself each nite before you go to bed. Just hit the horn alarm button and let it blow once and hit it again to stop it. If you do this each nite it won't go off in the middle of the nite.

The horn wires needs to be inspected.Click the link below and follow the wiring diagram. You just need to follow the wiring shown in diagram and disconnect the wire getting to horn. Then test it with meter and see if your are getting voltage with horn depressed and not depressed.Click the link below for wiring diagram.:-------http://technoanswers.blogspot.in/2012/02/vehicle-wiring-diagram.html

My horn started going off in the middle of the night, it kept happening every few minutes until I pulled the fuse. What is wrong with it?

The car is possessed.! Just kidding! Horn's usually have power going to them at all times so when you press the horn button, that is essentially grounding the circuit which completes the circuit triggering the horn to blow. The horn relay could also be faulty. Log onto Autozone.com and by entering your yr/mk/model of vehicle you are able to view Chilton's online manual for free. Go to the wiring diagrams section so you can become familiar with your specific wiring.

My Mitsubishi Montero, 2003 horn is going off in the middle of the night. I beat on the horn pad serveral times until it stops, then in a couple of hours it goes off again and the police show up. Is it...

Is the alarm causing the horn to honk? If so, you need to figure out what is causing the alarm to trigger, which could be any number of things.
Or, the panic module could be failing.
It is least likely to be the horn ring unless the only way you can get the horn to stop is by "beating the horn button on the steering wheel".

If it is, then you can replace the parts for the horn button, but you will need to get an assembly manual for the vehicle. Be sure to disconnect the battery before attempting to remove the airbag module. If it goes off, then you risk injury, and, they are not cheap to replace.

1996 Chrysler Cirrus horn wouldn't stop beeping too!!!

was it hot outside-heat could deform the steering wheel horn pad and make the horn go off, remove the horn pad and airbag unit(take fuse out for airbag system wait a few mins)then put the fuse that you removed back in place and see if the horn goes off again.

My horn turns on anytime during the day or night. What could be wrong? I have to tap or hit the middle of the steering wheel hard several times in order for it to stop.

You have a slight short or wires exposed or getting pinched. I would start by taking off the plastic cover located around your steering consol where your window wiper and turn signal stick is. The short is prob. under there look for exposed or pinched wire and put electrical around it. Good Luck!

Horn problem on 2002 Saturn Vue AWD V6

This is probably a temp thing...night brings colder temps. The wiring may be failing or the steering wheel portion over the horn might harden and cause it to touch the center of the horn to make it go off.
Let me know if this helps.
