Sorry never done one so i havent a clue,in the good old days the tach connected to the coil wire but now with all this fancy electrics ,Well what happens is they call it vehicle security so they dont have to release the diagrams and this is done to stop people like myself from by passing the immobilisers when we service a vehicle.Because no doubt as you are aware on new cars that if you drop the oil the immobiliser cuts in.Change the battery and the same thing happens.So what happens to keep the dealers in work ,yes you have guessed it no wiring diagrams ,multilayered circuit boards and wires all the same colour to stop people like me from soldering the two outside legs together of a big switching transistor together to make the vehicle general mechanic friendly.Also encrypted software is used to stop the fault codes from being read ,they throw up the wrong code ?? try asking dealer to install then post where he connected too .,best of british with it

and i should charge you for this info, but ill be nice. aquire the appropriate pinout diagram for your ecu's plugs. then proceed to verify each of the ecu's power wires have the correct voltage. then proceed to perform a continuity test on all ecu grounds. this means checking voltage from the ecu plug to the ground location that the wire goes to. you should find your problem somewhere within there if you have already swapped out with a KNOWN GOOD ecu.

Check that the wiring harness connectors attached to the ECU are firmly attached. Check the Distributor cap (assuming it has one) to ensure that the carbon rod in the roof of the cap is still intact and serviceable - it may have worn down or disintegrated.
i have my c 220 4clys. diesel engie that i have problem on the wiring systerm on the window control modul that is located on the ecu. i have 3 wires disconect on the sucket of this modul. the wires are blue and white, yellow and white , black and white. the second modul is that located on side of ecu carrying a black relais on.there is another 4 wires disconect from one surket side.the wires and their coleurs are green and lait red, tick red and green, red and yellow, black and red. please i need a wiring diagram for this modul and unite. my mail is email@example.com
