I changed the key fob battery (twice) in my 2004 9-3 but still get the Replace Battery indicator - - and cannot lock using the remote... although unlocking works fine. How can I reset the indicator t

Did you already re-sync?
"After you change the battery, be sure to put the key in the ignition and start the car so it will re-sync."
"You sync it with the key in the ignition turned to 'ON' and press the UNLOCK button 7-10 times."

This suggests removing key with gear lever in Reverse:

Central locking

When you replace the batteries in a key fob you usually have to reprogram (kind of a sync) the fob to the car. Each manufacturer is different and usually involves turning the key over a certain number of times ( like 8) then operating the fob in a certain way like holding the lock button down for three or so seconds. I found out how to do mine on YouTube

When you replace the batteries in a key fob (or if the car randomly "un-syncs" with fob) you usually have to reprogram (kind of a sync) the fob to the car. Each manufacturer is different and usually involves turning the key over a certain number of times ( like 8) then operating the fob in a certain way like holding the lock button down for three or so seconds. Sometimes when you change batteries you have to re-sync the remotes to the vehicle. Check your owners manual, you may be able to lock and unlock the driver's door with the key to do it.

Usually when you change a Fob battery you have to re-sync it to the car. Some cars have you lock and unlock the drivers door with the key.
Should be in your owner's manual.

I just changed the battery on the alarm fab now it doesn't work? It's installed in a 2001 Toyota Tacoma.

If you mean the key fob, it may need to be re-calibrated to the truck.
Check your owners manual or call the dealer parts dept.
Most models use the driver's door lock to sync the fob and the vehicle.

I left my car garaged over the very cold winter. When I eventually tried to start the vehicle the infra red key fob would not open the central locking to disarm the immobiliser. There was also no power...

depending on the type of security system, it is sometimes necessary to re-sync the keyfob to the car after a flat battery on the car or the fob.
this is normally just a matter of turning the key to the IGN position and pressing the button on the key fob. you may have to hold the button for a second or two but this will normally re-sync the system.

if it does not work then you will have to sent more detailed information on the security system. ie factory fitted or aftermarket system with make and type (normally found on the siren unit under the bonnet.

hope this helps

My key fob lost it's sync. The battery is good, just trying to find out how to reset it. 2003 Suburban. Thanks

Hello: Shut doors, with key OUT of ignition, stand next to the truck, hold down on the lock and unlock button until the door locks lock and unlock. If unit was out of sync that will re-sync it. If that don.t work try reprogramming the key fob, you may have to go to the dealer to do that.
