Mercury Monterrey 2005 had torque converter replaced and cd player won't work is this a result of power being cut when redcall service done?

CD makes sound as if operating, but won't play or accept or eject, the word "initializing" appears but it never begins operation. Worked fine until had warranty service done, dealership claims "not their fault."

It is their fault

They don't care

They should do what is necessary to
have your CD Player work, after disconnecting
the battery, to do other work

Go there & stand the by the vehicle, while
they resolve the issue

I have a RDS stereo and it won't play my cd's. It says player error

RESET YOUR PLAYER AT DEFAULT SETTINGS. SWITCH IT OFF. SWITCH IT ON AND INSERT CD. GIVE THE PLAYER TIME TO READ. DON'T PRESS ANY BUTTONS TILL IT COMPLETE IT'S READING. IT WILL PLAY THE CD.

ALSO CHECK CD'S ARE BRANDED AND NOT COPY FROM COMPUTER. FEW COMPUTER WRITE CD NOT HAVE AUTO PLAY OPTION.

IF PROBLEM NOT SOLVE PLEASE INTIMATE.

My 2005 ford focus CD player doesn't eject the disc out. what is the problem. second i got 2007 ford focus stereo but the connection harness is different how do i convect it to connect to my 2005 ford...

It is very common on Ford models of that year to have cd's not eject. If you are using burned cd's, these are generally to thick for the player to handle. Working at the Dealership i have seen this many times. As far as the wiring harness, its colors should be the same as the old one , so you need to cut off the connectors and reattach.

I have run into this problem many times on your particular type of radio. I have worked in a gm dealership for years. Sometimes we can reprogram them and they work better, but all will eventually need replaced. The cheaper option is to have an aftermarket radio installed, for the price of a new factory radio, you could have a much nicer aftermarket unit.

Wanting to install a cd player in a 1977 mercury grand marquis, wondering y an old tape deck will work but a modern day cd player will not. Is there a wiring harness that i can use to install a cd player?

Hi,

NO problem here, the supplier of the CD player will have an interface(wiring plugs adaptor) that will convert the original wiring to suit the (new) replacement unit. A good Auto Elec will also solve any problems but the interface wiring will illiminate all this. Good Luck
