Question about 1987 Ford Thunderbird
I have a 1987 mercury cougar xr7 5.0 and i have power to the coil and the distributer but it wont start. I replaced the computer and still nothing. I also tryed the wireharness also nothing. i Didnt try the distributer yet. I also put a siloniod in im getting fuel but no spark. My car just cranks and doesnt atemp to start . I do have a powered test light. Can you help me?
Put the test light on the positive of the battery and probe the neg side of the coil while cranking and see if you get a flashing lamp if not either the ignition module is bad or the pick up inside the distributor if the car has a tach if the tach moves while cranking it is most likely the module
