Did u scan the ecu? is that where u got bank 1 buring lean code? check the injectors one is probably plugged . have u ran u gas low recently? and possible problem with the fuel filter if u havent changed it recently.u might have picked up some dirt and that would cause a miss fire and a lean condition for the o2

1998 ford explorer 4 5 6 cyl. misfire

Hi:
A code P0304 - 305 or 306 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plug or wire
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer

Possible Solutions:
If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Fault codes P0355, P0171, P0174 on ford expedition 2001 what do i need to fix

The P0355 code is, "Ignition Coil E Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction" this has to do with the coil(s) and the coil may be going bad, or you have a bad wire / plug (connection) to the coil. P0171 is "System Too Lean (Bank 1)" and P0174 is " System Too Lean (Bank 2)" . The P017X codes mean your ox2 sensors are picking up a lean burn condition. Engine running to warm (hot) or your coolant temp sensor is not reading right or one of the ox2 sensors (Bank 1) is going bad. Hard to trouble shoot this from my computer desk.

1999 Toyota Solara V6 SLE has an engine misfire, Throws check engine codes, is running lean in bank 1 any ideas?

running lean bank one; suggest a bad 02 sensor on bank one, check engine light on? suppose so, or you would'nt have codes.may be a bad coil pack on bank one. it does'nt run without a backfire right? your best thing to do is this. check engine fire to plugs that supply fire to bank one,it may have a red fire to plugs on bank one side, but you need blue fire to plugs on bank one side.[the best spark to plugs will always be blue] you may only need to replace part of the engine coil pack, they will have numbers on them[coil pack] and which cylinders that they supply spark to. if i'm not mistaken, you will be looking from front of car, look on passenger side of motor for a bad spark plug, or may even be a worn spark plug wire, inspect your spark plug wires for a worn place where the wire is exposed to ground the spark from the spark plug. pull the spark plug out and check it for carbon build up also. for carbon build up, it will be covered with hard black substance. recommend if you do replace plugs, nepindenso, no ac plugs[cheap] no ac delso, cheap. the better the plug, the better the car runs with great mileage. hope this helps, merry christmas, and as always,if you need further assistance, please repost your question and an expert will be happy to assist!

2003 c 230 code p0171 replaced air flow sensor no vacume leaks still have code at long idle

fault code P0171 System Too Lean (Bank 1), this fault could be occurred because of faulty upstream or downstream oxygen sensor of bank one you must check the actual value of upstream and downstream oxygen sensors, if the oxygen sensor values are same both side bank one and two check subpressures for spark plugs (spark plugs wires ) and spark plugs and ignition coils, can do one thing to find out easily, swap spark plugs subpressures and ignition coil between both banks after that clear code and start if the code change to P0174 System Too Lean (Bank 2) you can understand that's the fault create by one spark plug or wire or coil then swap one by one and you be able to find which one is the faulty one replace it.is this information helped you?

2003 Ford Ranger 4x4 extended cab- diagnostics checked and got these codes- P0171, P0174, P0300, P0316. Can you tell me what they mean?

P0171------ system too lean bank#1
Po174------ system too lean bank#2
For these 2 codes, try cleaning the maf sensor (mass air flow), that is mounted in the big black hose that goes from the air filter housing to the throttle plate, if it is dirty, that will cause those 02 sensors to send a signal to the computor to lean the air fuel mixture. If cleaning it doesn't work, the sensors will probably need changing.
P0300---- Random/multiple cylinder misfire
P0316---- Cylinder misfire at start up---- first 100 revolutions.
On those 2 codes, you have to do some testing to find out why there is a misfire.
Possible causes:
dirty/malfunctioning injectors
weak coil pack
fowling spark plugs/wires
Low fuel pressure

Getting too lean on one bank and too rich on another & p0303

This could be. Does sound like a faulty 02 sensor if it is running lean or rich. It may also be a fautly computer if the o2 sensor are all new.

The code of p0171 ,how to fix

You can try cleaning the MAF first:
http://www.fordf150.net/howto/clean-maf-mass-airflow-sensor.php

If the code comes back after clearing it, check the spark plugs (not an easy task). My 2000 Expedition had fouled plugs....the 5.4 has a bad head design with recessed spark plugs.

2001 MPV Runs Rough at Idle and Low end Throttle

This could be a bad fuel injector. Lean implies low fuel to the cylinder which will cause a misfire.
