I imagine it is a diesel motor in which case I suspect that you have either a blocked fuel filter or air in the system.. try bleeding the system . make sure the battery is in good condition as the motor will have difficulty starting if it is not spun quick enough at starting

It involves bridging the diagnostics connector in the engine bay (facing the front of the vehicle with the bonnet open it is to the right of the engine on the bulkhead) - easy to do...

Hi, my 80 series land cruiser 93 4.5lt petrol automatic, won’t find any gears there was slipping at the start and now nothing. Would you recommend a fluid change in the gearbox?

1. Check the transmission fluid level.
2. When you draw out the dip stick to check the level, note the colour of the ATF and the smell.

Toyta engine

Hi,

To my knowledge Toyota HG-J80 is an 80 series Land Cruiser powered by a 1HD-T diesel engine.

The 1HD-T belongs to the HD family of engines. The 1HD is 4164cc, 6cyl, turbo-charged, 4valves/cylinder, sohc, with bore of 94mm, and a stroke of 100mm, cr: 18.6:1. The T designate it as being turbocharged.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
