Troubles removing license plate light bulb

I have a 2004 buick regal. Both license plate lights are out and I've checked my manual, however the description and image shown does not match my vehicle! I don't know where else to look... most cars are simple...done in less then 5 min but looking under the trunk lid... would i have to take out the whole back taillights to access just the license plate bulbs?

Change the license plate lights in my 2002 buick rendezvous cx

On most GM cars, SUV's, and light duty trucks, the license plate light bulbs are held in place by 2 screws...located on each side of the plastic lens...remove these 2 screws then wiggle the entire assembly out so you can view and replace the bulbs...Again most GM cars have 2 bulbs also...Hope this helps.

How do I replace license plate bulbs on 2004 park avenue

I was wondering if this was a trick question.

If you don't see little screws holding the light cover on, you will have to access them from inside the trunk.

remove/replace.

How to charge tag light

Vehicles: 2004 Buick LeSabre 3.8L SFI OHV 6-cylinder

From sylvania.com:
License plate light bulbs - 2 compatible tag light bulb types:
(1) 161
(2) 161LL (LL stands for "Long Life")
SYLVANIA Long Life miniature bulbs perform twice as long as any standard miniature bulb. Designed for durability, lower maintenance and greater safety.

These are available online, and also at every auto parts store:
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Long-Life-Incandescent-Mini-Bulb-Sylvania_5080167-P_1259_R'GRPLAMPAMS___

Since no maintenance manual covers this, do what mechanics do when maintenance manuals fail - get creative.

Unscrew or pry off the lens cover, pull out the License Plate's Type 161 bulb, and insert a new 161 or 161LL bulb, and replace the cover.

Test your installation by turning the ignition key to the "Accessory" position, which will turn on the running lights and the license plate light.

Bulb on license plate is out and cruise control. 2004 cavalier

The two problems should not be related to one another. The the fuses for the park lights and the cruise control. The license plate bulb is wired along with the rest of your park lights. If the rest of the park lights are working then check for power and ground at the bulb holder. If you have both there, check the bulb and the fit again. If no power or ground is there you will have to trace the wires. If the fuse is not blown to the cruise control, more information is required to trouble shoot any further.

Can't open trunk with remote and backup lights and license plate light don't work on my 2002 Buick Regal

Sounds like a fuse problem. Have you checked all the fuses yet? Look in your owners manual to see what fuses relate to those three areas you are having trouble with. If you cannot tell if a fuse is blown by looking at it, use a voltmeter set to continuity. Hope this helps

License plate light not work

Change the bulb.
Or, the wire could be damaged and shorted out if the new bulb replacement won't solve this issue.
