Question about 2001 Chevrolet Camaro
OK, I have a 2001 Camaro w 3.8 liter V6. It starts and runs perfectly , but every 10 or 15 starts it will either crank and die immediately, or the starter will crank but the engine acts like it's not getting fire or fuel. It simply will not start. Now here's the weird part... If you disconnect the battery for 1 or 2 hours, then cycle the Alarm, it will crank and start fine.... for 10 or 15 starts, then repeats the no start problem. This also sometimes occurs that when I'm driving and will lose the coolant temp gauge. ( goes to Zero ) The car will keep driving fine, then, as soon as I turn it off... no start until I disconnect the battery for a couple of hours. Could this be a Theft deterrent system issue such as a bad pellet in the pass key? Or a bad ECU? I've taken to the shop and they wil keep it 3 or four days and say it's fine but it just keeps happening. I can always EVENTUALLY get it to start, but its a pain when you need to get somewhere in a hurry and it decides to get tempermental. HELP!!!
Try having your wiring harness checked also get your trottle positioning senser checkedit could be that your wiring harnesses have a dry rotted break in them and one is making contact and shortingout that is why when you unplug the battery for a little while and then when you plug it back up the computer reads the problem has been repaired until you go down the road and hit a bump that causes any kind of movment that makes the wires to move then your problem starts again.
