Question about 2001 Volkswagen Beetle

1 Answer

When I lock my car the alarm goes off when I unlock with the key.

I cannot lock the car without the alarm going off, so I can't lock it! Also, the driver window has a bit of a problem, as it lags about 3/4's of the way up. The A/C has suddenly stopped working and is blowing hot air.

As far as the alarm, check your fuse for it, had the same problem with our bonneville. It was a bad fuse...

Sounds like the motor that runs your window is about to die also........been down that road before!

Depending on how old your car is, you may need to find an old mechanic and have the freon charged in your car.!!

Hope i could help, i feel your pain!!!

Car unlocked but it sets the alarm ... car locked alarm goes for no obvious reason s type 4 liter.

Are you using the the keychain to lock unlock the vehicle? A low battery in the keychain will send wacky codes to your vehicle alarm system and will not set properly. Try using the key in the door to lock unlock vehicle. IF the alrm does not go off when using the key in the door, then you probably have to change the battery in the key chain. Best guess without being there to look at vheicle.

Everytime you trie to start my 1997 Jetta G.O. the alarm goes off, how do i disconnect the alarm without unhooking the battery?

Try unlocking it from the passenger door (with the key). the driver door lock has a weak connection that wears out, then the car doesn't "know" you unlocked it from driver's side. Do you have the key fob to unlock it? If so, use it (unlock) then open the pass. door.
Please let me know if this worked! -Tom

How do we dismantle the alarm system without the remote? We live in an apartment building and the valets in the garage have a key without the remote so they can move the car. Even if we leave the car...

You can buy a new key chain remote on ebay, or go to hyundai dealership, I would not disable security, as one thing electrical goes wrong it can cause other things to not work properly. This car has built in computer system.
