No Spark - 4.3L S10 Pickup - CarGurus

I had to replace the magnetic pick-up sensor on the side of the distributor that tells the coil when to fire on my 86 truck. It was $80 and slips onto the distributor held on by the cap.

Can be loose battery connection,or weak starter motor/solenoid.Sometimes new battery even comes weak/faulty.Get the battery bench tested at local car garage.

My own 1994 toyota pickup did this exact thing intermittently for 2 years but the lights would always go off. When it finally stayed on I took it to my mechanic and the alternator was bad and I had it replaced. It was strange to have thake and battery light on but mine did the exact same thing.

You could have an ignitor problem, but you may have hit to many wrong keys when you were typing in your problem and it is not real clear.

Check your distributor. You may have a bad electronic pick up or frayed wiring to the magnet pickup and loosing connection.

Sounds like there is air in the cooling system causing the engine not to overheat but the heater not to work. Flush cooling system and work the air out of the system.
