Question about 1991 Toyota Camry

91 Toyota Camry wont start right away

I have a Camry and almost every morning it takes me about 30 mins to get my car to start. I will turn over the key and its nothing like dead air. Then all of a sudden it will start. Every time i turn it off and start it after the first time its fine. Know what the problem is???

the starter MAY be fine, however it sounds like the starter solenoid may have a dead spot.

You can choose to replace the starter or just the solenoid - however you must remove the entire starter to swap out the solenoid.

It's a '91, and you may have some damaged teeth anyway when the solenoid hasnt quite reached the flywheel while engaging.

Yes, have the alternator bench tested and while its out - either install a new solenoid or replace the entire unit. Then you will be worry free for another 17 years :D

1993 toyota camry 4 cylinder runs 15 mins and shuts off and wont start back up until 30 - 45 mins later

This could likely be a problem with your cooling, Next time you turn your car on pay attention to the temperature gauge and see if it rises above the norm.

I have a 91 toyota camry dx 4cly. I have had truble getting it started for the last two weeks (hard starting). but i put new plugs in and its starts right up. but one day later wont start at all now turns...

could be a couple of things. check to see if you have spark and see if you have fuel pressure if you do then maybe it could be a bad timing belt or a clogged catilytic converter

2005 Toyota Camry is making a loud scraping sound after driving 15 mins...What could be causing the noise? I took it in to Toyota and Firestone and they couldn't find anything...

Take the car out on a quiet parking lot(no traffic) get it up to speed and when the noise is occuring turn the car to the right and to the left...did the noise go away???
I think on one of those turns it did...if it went away on the left turn the left front wheel bearing/hub assembly is bad and needs replacement, if it went away on the right turn the right side hub/bearing needs replacement. Hope that helps!!

91 camry wont start fuse problem?..the car is great running cond.

Probably the battery. The battery may have enough voltage for the lights to work; however, this may not be enough voltage to start the car.

Find someone with cables to give you a jump start. Then take the car by an auto parts place and have them load test your battery. Most stores do this at no charge.

91 camray 2.0 4cyl. wont start after driving for 20 min.

I would start by have the starter itself checked. Electrical resistance may be increased by warmer temperatures.
