Question about 1996 Buick LeSabre
Hello, My name is Bonnie and I live in Layton, Utah. A single parent raising a teenage daughter; living in a HUD Apt. for low income families. The other day, the CHANGE OIL SOON light turned on, so I have an appt. to get my oil changed in a day or two. However, as I was driving through town I came upon a stop sign. I stopped, then proceeded to accelerate... then all the sudden my car started skipping and or jerking as if it wanted to stall (hesitance) Like it was skipping a heart beat. It was acting as if the gasoline was not cycling through its route like it should. ( I figured maybe I had pumped some "bad gas"). Then my inside dash light became dimmer and I knew I was going to lose all power. So, as I tried pulling off to the side of the road still in a skipping and jerking motion and my foot still on the gas pedal and the motor still running, it stopped moving. It didn't stall but it wanted to. It just stopped movement and losing all power quickly. I turned my car off for a few minutes then restarted it to head for home which was about 1.5 miles away and it being 2:00 A.M. I wasn't about to walk alone and have my car stranded. So, my car and I proceeded to hesitantly skip and **** home to where it's now parked and sits and going nowhere. Now I'm wondering... how I'm going to get it to the repair shop for a full service oil change and whatever else it is that is causing this problem, to be fixed. Can't afford a tow but i'll get it to the shop one way or another. If the diagnosis is known I would be forever greatful for the over-all repair and labor cost. (round-about figure, est. amount). PLEASE REPLY ASAP, Thank-You! Sincerely, Bonnie
First check the battery connections then charge the battery if u can have some body check the charging system meaning the alternator. To see if u have enough voltage to run the electrical system should be around 13- 14 volts.
