Question about 2000 Jaguar S-Type

1 Answer

Knocking sound i have a 2000 jaguar s type. every morning when i start my car, there is a knocking sound underneath the car. once the car warms up and i drive off the sound subsides. i also noticed the sound when i reved the engine on park up to 3000 rpms, and once as i was backing up. other than that, the car runs good and no other problems yet. what do you think it is? the sound always occurs when i start the car through out the day. sometimes there will be no sound at all.

Why won't it start first thing in the morning?

Sounds like the check ball in the fuel pump is stuck. Lets the fuel drain back to the tank. Turn it on and off three or for times before starting. This will get the fuel to the injectors faster.

I have 2000 S type. In the mornings when I start the car it sort of shakes the car. ( it sound like it is miss timing) Once it warms up this goes away. No engine light but I have checked the coils all...

Transmission Knock

this is most likely a transmission filter being dirty and it needs to be changed regularly as does the oil in your van. this is inside the transmission and needs to be serviced to complete this job i do not recommend you trying this by your self as you could damage your transmission.

Light knocking at the first start each morning

sounds like a high mileage motor. worn lifters that take a few minutes to pump up. Might add a quart of marvel mystery oil. To improve cold start upper cylinder lubrication.

Cold start

Obviously a sensor feeding wrong info to computer for cold start/running. Will save money in long run if you have it scanned for free at auozone, or PEP boys.
