1997 jimmy, starts great. then seems once its warmed up speed drops to 10, 20 maybe 30 & pushing down on gas pedal doesn't help. Hubby puts it in neutral, restarts it, runs great, looses power on hills bad. Changed fuel filter, oil, tranny fluid & did tuen up too. Scope at Auto Zone said we must take to dealer. On disability. I can't afford the $90 scope there. Please help.

It's most likely you're cpi injector assembly. Check the fuel pressure first. This is common on Gm models like you'res. I spent thousands chasing similar problems with my truck. The parts expensive most parts stores have a conversion assembly to mpi injection. I highly recomend it.

I have a 1997 lumina with 3.1L. the problem started with loss of power under load and p0300 code. check coils and vacuum leaks both OK.change spark plugs and wires.[same problem] check compression OK.

Since you changed the sensor we will assume it is working. When you disconnect it you put the computer in limp mode which stops it from using sensor values. If code 300 is the only code we will assume the coolant temp sensor and others are ok.
I would check fuel pressure with a gauge next.

1997 gmc jimmy, have no brakes, when truck is running pedal goes right to the floor. when the truck is off I can pump the brakes to build up pressure. there are no brake fluid leaks is it the booster or...

SOUND LIKE BRAKE BOOSTER BAD IF BRAKES WONT HOLD WHILE ENGINE RUNNING.BRAKE BOOSTER NOT HOLDING VACUUM,IT HAS A LEAKING DIAPHRAM. IF MASTERCYLINDER WAS BAD BRAKES WILL GO TO THE FLOOR WITH ENGINE ON OR OFF.AND YOU WOULD SEE WARNING BRAKE LIGHT FLASHING.

I have a 98 ford F150 4x4 and the brake pedal lights had been staying on after i stopped and shut down the truck.Had to pull pedal up to shut them off. today i noticed a shaking in rear brakes and pedal...

you may have a bad master cylinder that is not pushing the brake pedal to the stop when not breaking.in other words the master allows the pedal to rest lower as it doesn`t have sufficeint residual pressure to push the pedal back,or the pedal is catching on something not allowing it to return to its rest position.this can cause the rear brakes to apply slightly as the pedal not being all the way in the rest position is applying just enough pressure to the system.if the pedal is going all the way to the floor then you need to check for a fluid leak in the system including the master cylinder(internal leak)if no external leak is found.

Loss of power

Try changing fuel filter first. Also check for vacuum leaks, loose, cracked or broken vacuum lines.

88 gmc jimmy wont start. clicks and wont turn over. push gas pedal a couple times and it starts. why?

look for a lose wire near your fuel pedal. sounds like some thing is drawing the power and you might be knocking it free when you hit the throttle.
