Question about 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
I'm changing the timing belt on my 2004 Aveo at 55,000 miles as part of the scheduled maintenance. I intend to change the timing belt, tensioner, idler, and water pump at the same time. The problem: how to get at the water pump? It is behind a plastic rear timing belt cover. It appears that I would need to take both camshaft gears off to remove the rear plate (and I don't want to disturb the cam shafts until I put the new belt on).
You have to. Don't play with the timing if u have no experience w it.

change fuel filter and stick an airline down the feed pipe to the filter to blow out the gauze filter in the tank ,remove the filler cap first though ,if none of this works remove the injector pump and take it to diesel specialist

Now. i think the interval is 75 to 80 miles for belts. double check that it doesn't have a timing chain. if it has the 2.4 ltr eng than you have timing chain and around 120k is fine.
