Question about 1999 Buick Century
Will be necessary to repair to pass state inspection. Will this be expensive?
I just fixed that problem. The problem is loose resistors on the instrument cluster's he printed circuit board. It's four bigger resistors parallel to each other. Re solder them and you are set.

Yes, you will have to have an operational odometer and gear shift display before you can pass inspection. this may be a blown fuse of some sort and, its not a very expensive repair at all. actually, it depends on where you take this vehicle.some tech will pass you and some are very hard on little malfunctions like you are experiencing. the safe thing is to repair it.
