Question about 2006 Chevrolet Malibu
Latest update fromFeb 27th.After taking the Malibu into the dealership and having it diagnosted with a defective steering motor they informed me that because of the safety bulletin I showed them dated 2005 they would split the cost and replace the motor for 202.40.I told the service manager not to fix the problem untill I investaged further including calling GM and seeing what they said. After several discussions with customer service over the phone a dertermanation will be made Monday as to the cost.Im not paying for a defective steering issue that indangered my wife who will not drive this make car again.NOW do I keep it ?sell it to some unsuspecting person or trade it in .Wow,what to do?I really like the car but it is dangerous and could kill an unsispecting driver who isnt aware that at any time the steering could malfunction and be very had to steer.Added NOTE.When I talked to the sale manager and the salesman who sold me the car they did not have a clue that there was a serious issue with the steering on theMalibu or the other makes of vehicles that use the same steering systme.WOW again and now they know and shame on them if they sell these vehicles knowing theres a problem. If GM is not going to fix this serious defect with a full recall then they should a least send out a saftey bulletin to at least give the loyal customers a fighting chance for there safety.
