Question about 2004 Acura TL

Navigation system repeatedly resets (2004 Acura TL)

Wife said yesterday that the Nav system wasn't working right and kept resetting. When I got in the car this morning, it was asking for my security code. After entering it, the screen displayed the acura navigation logo screen. It would then either continually reset to this screen or give me the nag screen. Pressing "OK" on the nag screen would sometimes bring up the map but show no vehicle movement. At other times, the map would be blank. In both situations, the screen would quickly reset to the logo screen.

I have not disconnected the battery recently or messed with the navigation DVD.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Update: I ejected the DVD, re-inserted it, and had no change in the problem.

I unhooked the car battery for a minute to reset the system and still have the same problems...

I also am seeing some of the same issues in my 2007 tl. It will work then a screen saying to cinsult the dealer comes up. If you restart the car it will work fine for 1 min - 20 min and then back to the consult your dealer grey screen. I have been looking for solutions as well. I found a post talking about resetting the whole nav system....I will let you know what I find.

So I took it in to the Acura dealer and they had seen this problem a few times before. They removed the faulty internal nav unit and sent it out for repairs. Got it back about three weeks later. Fortunately, the dealer convinced Acura to warranty the part so all I had to pay for was labor, which saved me about $400.

SOURCE: Navigation Code

True.  It is in the trunk under the plastic carpet.  You need to remove the bolts from the navi dvd and flip it over.  Write down the serial number and go back to the dealer.  Show registration of car and have car with you.  On 2005 and up cars with navi the tech can go to a secret tech screen and get the serial number.

SOURCE: navigation asks for a code

Contact you can look under your nav system in the trunk. You will need to remove the screws that hold the Nav System in place. The serial number is right in the middle on the bottom of the unit. Once you have it, call Acura and tell them you need the code. You will also have to prove that you own the vehicle. Good Luck.

SOURCE: changed battery of my 2002 acura mdx, need codes for radio nav

You need to get the serial number off the sticker attached to the radio and nav. It will require pulling apart your dash. Call an Acura dealership with that serial number and they should be able to provide you the code. Or you can take it directly to the dealer but you will be charged labor.

Acura tl navigation code

You'll have to remove the display and get the serial number off of it, call the dealer and get the code. Easier to register on Acuraowners.com and do it that way.

2006 acura tl navigation system loses its way becomes unstable and not accurate. Dealership can't fix it and my extended warranty is not covering based on what the dealership told them

Try this, as silly as it sounds, drive your car slowly in a complete 360 degree circle three times around in a counter clockwise direction...it just might help your navigation system to find it's way again. Note: make sure the Nav. is on while you try the above.

I had the same problem and carefully cleaning the map DVD solved it. After years of use, a film gets built up on it. It is under the front passenger seat.

2005 Acura TL Radio/Nav code

Your navigation code and radio codes writed on stikers on glovebox. Just open your glovebox and look on left side of gloivebox, not inside but outside. Open glovebox and look on left side. On my 2005 Acura RL NAV and Radio codes is different but it both on glove box. Sometime you even need to remove your glovebox cover to see those codes.
