A heater core is located behind the dash on the passenger side. If you look under the hood you will see 2 heater hoses going to the fire wall again, on the passenger side, your heater core is located behind the hoses. You will need to take the dash loose or off to get to the air box the heater core rides in.

Where is on a 03 chevy malibu the A/C expansion valve

Your model does not use an expansion valve. It has an orifice tube in one of the metal lines that converts the gas to liquid.
If the orifice tube is blocked it would be at the edge of the frost.
Could also be a restricted air flow thru the radiator or the evap core inside the car.

Just changed my hoses out on my 2003 chevy malibu, now the air is blowing real well but only cold. It will not blow hot air and it is causing the check engine light to come on. Any thoughts

check your heater core in the center behind radio under dashboard sounds like no circulation from radiatorto core that gives heat nothing electric and also check your thermistate comingfrom the radiator hose connected to your engineblock

My wife 03 galant's heater is not workin only

Did you replace the thermostat? If it is stuck open the coolant may not get hot enough to be effective.

Car is running hot but no hot air from the vents, then it came down and still no hot air from vents?

Check the 2 heater core tubes at the firewall. If they are not getting hot then the heater core is plugged up.

Try to flush and fill the cooling system.

Check the blend doors to make sure that they are opening if the heater core is getting hot at the two tubes.

Good luck on fixing this no hot air from vents problem.

We turn on the heater and its hot for the 1st minute, then its cool. What could it be?

Low coolant (not filling the heater core), or needs a heater core flush (to produce more flow into the heater core). Some possibilties for starters... Have you had the coolant flushed at all before? The fact that it is an '03 leaves for possibilities that it is due. A flush by a garage would some the problems above.

'03 chevy tracker. no heat. scent of antifreeze

You need to have the cooling system/heater core tested for leaking. Those symptoms sound like the heater core has failed.
