Question about 1997 Chevrolet Suburban

1997 suburban I had a water pump problem now it's moved. The leak has moved further down to either a soft plug or maybe a cracked engine. There is no oil water in the oil. Can anybody help me?

Is this a 5.7L ? Did the engine overheat at any time? Any way you can get under , or whatever to confirm area of leak with a light? You may have to have it pressure tested, & on a hoist to help locate & go from there.

The leaks is likely running down from a higher spot like under the A/C compressor bracket. Check all 4 corners of the intake manifold for leaks. This a common leak.

I'm having to add coolant once a week,no signs of external leak.

Check water pump for blockage. Normally when pumps get blocked or have to work against pressure of a clogged cooling system they start losing water through two tiny holes in their housing as a precaution to safeguard the pump from breaking. Further to that you should check the radiator and hoses for tiny craks. You should do so when the engine has reached normal working temperature. You will notice water vapour at this stage where the cracks are.

My suburban now overheats and there is coolant leeking from the fire down. would that be my heater hose? someone told me it was a blown heads could you help me out.

first make sure you know where the leak is coming from.a common problem in the suburbans is the little plastic Y shaped connecting hose leading to the heater coil, cracks over a period of time. And when it does so it shoots water on to the passenger side of the engine making you believe you have a serious problem. You can check this easily by removing your airfilter housing, this will expose the heater hoses and possibly your problem. If there is no leak there, let me know.I assumed when you said from the fire down you were refering to the firewall, correct?

Water leak at front of engine very small amount maybe a gallon every 2 weeks on 5.3 suburban 2002

check your hoses for poor condition and loose clamps. Check the gasket around your water pump as well.

My 99 suburban is leaking water vfrom the front of the engine it looks like its comeing from further down then the water pump

if it is indeed leaking from below the water pump your block is cracked but more than likely it is your waterpump it very common be sure to use dex-cool coolant
