Check all fuses in power distribution center near battery and make sure all wires you removed from starter went back on starter and not hanging somewhere. There is a possibility that before you changed the starter there was something wrong that was causing the starter not to operate. Also check that power is going to and out of the ignition switch and starter relay (relay also powers up the ignition system which is why you have no fire)

It sounds like a loose wire to the starter, check the wiring going to the starter for any corrosion, breaks and make sure all the bolts and nuts are tight.

2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine wont start when key is turned on. here a click when key is turned but that is it. battery has a charge. could this be a relay problem

Remove battery connections and clean them, or try twisting cables. The clicking is the solenoid kicking in. Your likely not getting enough power there to engage the starter. Other wise, your starter is probably bad, you can try tapping it with a hammer or what ever else you can hit it with. Don't try to kill it. If it starts after hitting it, its definitely the starter motor. Start with the connections tho.

My jeep cherokee just broke down for no reason what could it be it wont start up.

Two most common failures are crank position sensor and fuel pump however, without any details in you post, I could be way off...there are many items that can cause a no start. I suggest you get a chilton or haynes manual, a digital multi meter and do some testing. If you need additional help with what you find post back here. first thing you need to do is isolate the problem to either electrical or fuel, then work from there.

Jeep wont start

The crank position sensor is on the bell housing of the transmission, very hard to see, on passenger side, below the valve cover, depending if it is an early 2000 or a later 2000 model.

94 grand cherokee will not start after giving a jump start...

does it turn over? if it clicks and then stops really fast, it's your starter. don't worry, if it's the 4.0L it's an easy fix. 3 bolts and a hundred bucks and you'll be on your way. however, if all the interior electronics work, but when you turn the key nothing happens, you need to go through and clean all the electrical grounds and battery connecters. it happened to me (ironically my starter went out too) but that is the general problem. 1st gen grand cherokees are notorious for bad grounds.
