You have way too much fluid in trans !!!!!!!!!!!! remove trans pan, drain out fluid, replace gasket and filter, put in (4 quarts) fluid. MAYBE ! DONOT OVERFILL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONOT DRIVE UNTIL YOU DO THIS !!! NOW, START ENGINE, LET IT WARM UP, CHECK FLUID LEVEL, IF ITS TOUCHING THE DIPSTICK TAKE VAN FOR A SHORT RIDE, AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD, (5-10) MINUTES, THEN , WHILE ON THE LEVEL, RECHECK FLUID LEVEL, 3 TIMES, WIPING OFF THE STICK EACH TIME, YOU WANT TO SEE THE FLUID LEVEL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE "HOT" CROSSHATCHED AREA OF DIPSTICK ! IF THATS WHERE IT IS, CONGRADULATE YOURSELF, YOU ACTUALLY DID IT RIGHT !!! LEAVE IT ALONE, GO ON YOUR WAY. NOW, IF YOU NEED TO ADD FLUID, USE YOUR FUNNEL, ADD ONLY A SHOT GLASS @ A TIME ! DO YOU HEAR ME ????? A SHOT GLASS @ A TIME, NO MORE, NO LESS. EVERYTIME YOU PULL DIP STICK OUT, WIPE IT OFF, WIPE IT OFF, WIPE IT OFF !!! MAKE SURE YOU RESEAT STICK ALL THE WAY IN ! REMEMBER, THE ENGINE MUST BE @ NORMAL RUNNING TEMPERATURE, WITH GEAR SHIFT IN PARK, ENGINE RUNNING !

SOURCE: location of transmission fluid indicator dipstick

Couldn't find mine either. It's not in the owners manual. Actually, I found out that it does not have one. According to VW Vortex, they check the fluid at the dealership by computer.

SOURCE: dipstick for transmission fluid

There is no transmission dip stick... it is a sealed system and no service is necessary. If it's leaking, you'll need to have the seal replaced.

SOURCE: how do i change the transmission fluid out of my

There are two ways to changing the transmission oil. If your going to change the transmission oil and filter, your going to have to drop the transmission oil pan to get to the filter and the oil will drain from there, but keep in mind that it will get messy. The other way to replace the transmission oil if that is all your going to do is to get a large bucket and a small hose the size of the transmission oil line. You can disconnect the transmission oil line from the radiator on the passenger side and connect the hose to the line and the other end to the bucket. Start the truck and try to do this with two people, one to hold the hose and one to start the turn off the engine when the transmission is almost out of fluid. DO NOT RUN THE TRANSMISSION DRY, so make sure the other person understands you when you tell them to shut off the engine. This will ensure that you replace most of the fluid in the transmission, once most of the oil fluid has been drained from the transmission, just reconnect the oil line and refill the transmission fluid through the oil dip stick. Good luck and hope this helps.

SOURCE: where is the transmission dipstick on 1995 Isuzu redeo?

There is no transmission dipstick. You have to both check and add fluid to these vehicles from underneath the vehicle. Find the transmission fluid pan and you will find two plugs. The lower plug will drain the pan and the upper one you can add fluid or check the fluid level. You will know that the level is correct when the plug is out and fluid barely leaks out of the hole. You don't want a lot coming out because you don't want to overfill. In order to get it into the hole you have to be some sort of tube to attach to the top of the bottle. They sell these types of tubes at your auto part store and they just screw on. It is very awkward, but you can actually put the bottle high enough to get the fluid in if you put it right to the left of the pan. The first time I did this on mine it was a pain but once you figure it out you will be good to go. Let me know if you have any other questions about your vehicle. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

Coming home jimmy slowed down by itself to a stop. engine runs but it wont move in any gear

Did you look underneath for leaks ,check the dipstick?
Sounds like you are completely out of transmission fluid which does not sound good .
Adding SeaFoam probably didn't help either if it was already low or leaking ,never trust those supposed bottled leak sealers !
Hopefully you didn't drive it too far ,if you haven't I would have it towed home and fill it up with tranny fluid a quart at a time ,check it after the second bottle on the dipstick and after every one after until you see any improvement (all the while looking for leaks underneath !! ) Hopefully you haven't burned up your transmission.

I have a 1994 gmc jimmy and I have a lot of transmission fluid pouring out. Could it be because of the wrong brand of transmission fluid being put in it

first check the transmission oil level with the dipstick. make sure the truck is on a level surface. there is level lines on the stick to show low and full levels. the brand of oil will not cause this but make sure the oil type is right. it should be a Dexron type oil which is for GM vehicles. if the vent tube for the transmission is plugged it can cause the oil to purge. it could be a hole in the oil pan or the pan gasket is damaged leaking the oil out or even a trans seal is bad.

How to add transmission fluid to a 1998 gmc jimmy

automatic or standard? Automatics have a dipstick, you use a funnel and pour it in through the dipstick tube, Standards have a bolt on the transmission you need to take out and fill it up till it can hold no more

My 2001 GMC Jimmy wont accelerate. The RPMs shoot up over 4000 in first gear until finally changing but then shortly after shifting I lose acceleration all together. If I turn the car of and back on again...

Is the check engine light on? See what it says. It may be transmission related. The leaking fluid is probably transmission fluid. If it's really low you'll have a problem.

The transmission dipstick length

The problem with "Universal fit" is that it usually doesn't. Go to your local GM dealer and order one. ATF level is far to important to leave to a universal dipstick.

Where do you put in the transmission fluid for a 1995 GMC Jimmy? Is it in the same place as the dipstick?

Yes, you are correct. Start the engine, leave in Park position, check fluid level. If low, use a funnel and insert into the trans oil dipstick tube, add fluid as needed.
Caution: Do Not Overfill.
good luck.
