Normally 2-3 gallons if you use the premixed 50/50 coolant, if you use straight coolant you will need to mix 50/50 with distilled water. the cooling system will hold approximately 3 gallons of coolant total

pop out the center trim piece with a flat head screwdriver. Center dash piece may be brushed aluminum or wood grain depending on trim level. It should pop out easily working all the way around it. Then radio is held in with 7mm screws.

SOURCE: Thermostat on 2002 Chevy Impala

the best thing to get is the Haynes manual for your car at advanced auto or autozone or somewhere like that and the book will tell you how to take everything apart and put it back. i think the manual is about $16.00

This may, or may not, help you locate the sensor.
The video is for a 2006 Chevy Impala that has the 3.9 v6 engine.
Hopefully one model year difference did not change the engines...

I ha e a 2008 Chevy impala. If the coolant reservoir is empty does the radiator have fluid, and if so how long before it overheats?

You don't wait for trouble. On a cool engine remove radiator cap, can you see coolant level? With the coolant recovery reservoir, add coolant to cold fill line.

Where is the thermostat on the 2007 chevy impala lt. Not at the end of radiator hose

On this engine it isnt on the radiator hose it is on the hose that goes from the overflow bottle to the coolant housing. follow the tank to the block . you will need to drain the overflow bottle to remove this hose without making a mess. The thermostat is located in a hausing wher the hose bolts to the block.

2007 chevy impala gets hot sitting at light and when driving, what is the problem?

If the engine overheats standing still and while driving it points to a problem with either the coolant level is too low or there is a problem with the radiator fan. Make sure the coolant level is topped up and there are no leaks and check and see if the radiator fan comes on when the engine reaches operating temperature.

2005 chevy impala overheats sometimes. Replaced thermostat, coolant level is good, no leaks found. will run fine for a few days, then suddenly overheat.

I suspect you need to have your radiator cleaned at a radiator shop. This requires special tools and the use of dangerous chemicals.

2004 Chevy Impala no heat from defrost or heater

No heat is often a symptom of low coolant, usually followed by overheat. There are other controls that regulate heater, but right now, re-fill the cooling system with engine running and heater on high, then check for leaks (coolant you lost went somewhere...you need to determine where) Low coolant will damage your engine. Take care of that first, then if heater still does not work, then do diagnosis on that. (if you loose the engine heat won't matter, will it!)

Drain coolant in 2003 Chevy Impala

hey, i just flushed out my coolant system a month ago. it is located (if you face the front of the car) on the bottom right. it will drain straight down to the ground and you have to unscrew it from the back of the radiator. it is covered by a pastic piece and sits right on the radiator frame. hope that helps some!!
