If it's only working on high setting it is usually the blower resistor that needs replacing. They are usually located under dash, passenger side, remove cover, and it should be bolted or screwed near blower motor itself. $10-$20 part

The blower motor frooze up smoke came up through the air vent, changed motor and still does not work.
