Question about 2002 Ford Escape
This is NOT a Ford Escape. It IS a 1995 Ford Taurus. We changed the steering column. What is an air bag simulator? Should one have been used when the steering column was changed? Everything was put back in place as it was found when reassembled. What is the problem?

It could be a clock spring worn out but you need to know about changing it as the clock spring has to be put in exactly the right position or you can break it, it also could cause the air bag to deploy. you can go to this site http://www.airbagsolutions.com/contact.aspx and talk to them about getting the code to see if that is the problem, and if you still want to change it you can post back here and I will give you detailed instructions on how to do this, you will need a steering wheel puller which you can rent but first pull the codes, you will have to register before you can get the phone number to talk to them.

my recommendation is to go to autozone.com, here you can access there free manuals online, print your procedures and have step by step instructions. you will have to sign up and provide the information about your vehicle, the cost is free. I have used this several times, Good Luck!
