Question about 1981 Ford F 100

Battery being drained

I have a 2005 Ford Expedition. Yesterday it wouldn't start and the battery was completely dead. We recharged the battery. We had the battery checked and its fine as well as having diagnostics run and nothing was found wrong. Last night it was dead again after sitting for approximately 3 hours. Someone told me it may be a problem with putting the truck in Park. That the gear shifter may not be fully engaging in Park and that may be draining the battery. Is this true and what is the fix for this???

The key will not come out if not in park. Put a volt meter on the neg post below neg cable put the other wire in the cable. keep that connection do not loose it. watch the milliamps pull fuses untill draw drops out. Now you know what circuit is the fault you can put the fuse in and repeate steps with all the items in this circuit. You will find the draw. Keep many fresh cans of patience while doing this.

If the alternator is charging the battery, and it goes dead overnight, you have a short to ground in the wiring that is draining the battery.
You can try disconnecting the negative battery cable and see if the battery stays charged when the engine is off.
If it still goes dead, the battery could have a dead cell.

2003 expedition won't start after sitting overnight. New battery new altermator.

Look for something draining the battery overnight such as a light or some accessory that should turn off after a delay. One of our Ford experts may be able to pinpoint the problem with your Expedition

2005 Tahoe ABS problems

Hopefully the vehicle is at a repair shop now

You have a Fault Code to start with that has to be
resolved

No one can diagnose any product over the internet

I would think you may have two issues there

A possible ABSWheel Speed Sensor is common

And the brake light you surely wouldn't leave on so
the battery runs down over & over.

Can't use it at all like that

What would be wrong if every light in the car started blinking on an off in the car .Then the car just stopped working. Its a 2005 ford expedition.

first check the battery-it sounds like it might have suffered an internal short and died (it happens)-it should read 12.5+ volts at rest and if you get it running it should read a little over 14 volts at idle. My guess is the battery is dead.

yes- the wiper did drain the battery... the arm is seized up and the motor is still trying to move it... replace the ar. assembly and it should solve your problem...

2005 ford expedition rear wiper

Sounds like a problem within the wiper motor not turning off at rest or not reaching it's rest point to be able to turn itself off, probably needs a new motor. Disconnecting it should have no relation to the front washer operation, you can confirm this by reconnecting the wiper motor to try.
