Question about 1988 Buick LeSabre
I have put 4 throttle sensors on my 95 Buick LeSabre in the last 15,000 miles. The problem has accelerated with the last 2 sensors. Lasting only 200 miles before the check engine light comes on. I took the car to the Buick dealer this last time and had the car on the computer. It checked out as a EGR valve. I was told that to get a true diagnosis
of the problem, I would have to bring it back when the car is acting up.
The acting up is this. It will surge when you put a little pressure on the pedal. Eventually the transmission will not change gears. Then I have it checked and I put in throttle senors to make the problem go away until the next time. What do you think?
I had similar problem with my 1994 Buick LeSabe. after clening EGR valve and idle valve the problem almost disappeared. use trottle body cleaning liquid. be carefull with a gasket otherwise you will need to buy a new one. New EGR cost around $120
