After my car went completely dead, I replaced the battery and now when I attempt to crank the car, the dash lights flicker and it doesn't turn over or make any sound. What could be the problem now?

Pull the battery cables back off clean the battery post and cables reconnect it to make sure there is a good connection. If it still has a issue with that more than likely it is either the ignition switch or the ECU went bad.

Engine won't crank. battery charged up. alarm sounds go off,

The battery is charged up, but still remains suspect, because a failing battery cannot hold enough oomph to crank the motor, even after charging. So -

- failing battery, especially if 3 yrs old or more
- worn starter solenoid contacts
- failed starter solenoid coil
- dead spot in starter motor windings
- bad contact at either end of battery ground strap

There is a crude test. Turn on the headlights and try to crank the motor. If the lights dim down a lot, it is the battery at fault.

Jaguar Problem cranks, stops cranking and alarm sounds

sounds like the anti theft chip is causing the problem,I belive the battery in your key or the remote sensor is the bosses battery was located in the key its self, had the same problem until the battery was replaced.
uses the same battery that a watch uses, the dealer or a jewelery repair shop is your best bet,Good luck,Gary

2001 Hyundai Sonata V6 Alarm Constantly going off after reconnecting battery and car fails to start. Just replcaed crank sensor this morning and car ran and cranked as usual. Any ideas?

I don't think crank sensor has something to do with it unless the engine lights turns on and scanned were done and found the crank sensor code spits out... now you stated the alarm kept going off, question for you is the alarm a factory or aftermarket? if factory you are talking about maybe the anti theft triggered the " kill switch " to prevent from starting... what you can do is find the relay of the alarm module disconnected and try starting the car..

Alarm system will not shut off and cant start car.disconnected battery and reco,no solve problem.can the remote be stuck inalarm if battery dead?

you need to press the lock/unlock on the remote.
a POSSIBLE trick turn the door key to the right then the left, get in and crank engine
if that does not work get a new battery for remote.
if you disconnect the battery the alarm will sound when you reconnect and you will have to have the remote handy to stop it

Turn key on and now no dash lites as usual but a flashing lock and no crank in start position. battery was discnnected for service and reconnected, the alarm horn sounds too.

The vehicle alarm system needs a reset......can be done by most mobile alarm companies or it will have to go to the ford dealer.

Resseting alarm lockout in 2001 Pontiac Sunfire

turning left and stalling sounds like your power steering pressure switch is for other problem try unlocking drivers door using the key this should reset the factory alarm. also make sure you didn't miss a wire when reconnecting bat. look for 12gauge red wire near bat. this goes to computer if not connected car will crank but not start.
