Question about 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee
My 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee is stuck in 1st gear and will not change gears. Dosnt matter wat i do will not change.i hear a winding/sound like the fuel pump wen u turn the wheel but under truck
Check fluid to make sure it's full. Did you check to make sure that when you move the shifter, the transmission shift lever on the case moves? Assuming it's an automatic, if fluid is full and linkage moves properly, has fluid been changed? If not, do it! (including filter) If when changing fluid, you find an excessive amount of fine metal or clutch material in pan, chances are the unit has worn out and needs rebuild, If everything inside is clean & good then finish with change and check results. If still having same problem it's likely internal or if electrically shifted, a shift module problem etc.
