Question about 1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
I disconnected the central lock pump and the sound disappeared. But now the car won't start. It cranks, but the battery is dead and won't hold charge either. I put gas in the car, but still no dice. Car started fine before pump started draining battery.
Hello again, You could now have a driver authorization problem.
1. Plug your central locking pump back in.
2. Make sure that your remote batteries are good.
3. Lock and unlock the car with the remote.
4. Try to start car.
5. If no start you may have to synchronize the anti-theft system.
6. Point remote at the interior rear view mirror, press button on remote twice and turn ignition key key on within 30 seconds.
7. Turn key off and then back on and try to start car.
If car starts, you will need to find out why the pump won't shut off.
You may be able to unplug the pump after you are able to start the car but this I am not sure of.
