I have a 2003 jaguar x-type took my car into the dealers repair shop to get a wheel alighment. the mechanic said they could not get the arm off. they wanted to cut it off, and the warrenty company said no they would not pay for that. what is the solution?
Do you mean front or rear if it is rear you may need to heat up the captive nut to release the bolt if it is the front track ends they may also need heat to release them has they are prone to siezing up, what end of car is out of alighnment?
Well I have A jaguar x-type I needed to replace the driver front strut and the control arm it was tough but I took it out, it was very simple but they charge alots to replace these stuff. don't go to the dealer someone that know what doing could do it for you.

SOURCE: 2003 Jaguar S-Type, programming a key fob
The switchblade key would need to be compatable with your ignition switch barrel. Only normally available from jag dealers who check the Jag owners register before supplying you a replacement.
The older type seperate fobs could be programmed by switching the ignition on and off 8 times (allowing all functions to settle) and on the 9th switch on - press a button on each fob and then switch off. to test use a good fob to lock the car then try the reprogammed fob to unlock/lock. Sometimes this works first time - sometimes needs a couple of tries.
SOURCE: need to replace the left front wheel bearing on my wife's car
Too bad I am not at work I could call on a price for a bearing. To be honest that is not too bad of a price on a bearing installed. Most Jag parts need to be purchased from Jag. A typical price for a sealed hub bearing unit is about $140 retail for a chevy corsica(just did 2 on one on monday) to about $300-400 on a ford super duty. and that is not including labor. You need air tools, a torque wrench and lock tight thread locker for this job. And something to remove any corrosion from mounting surfaces
1. jack up car, take wheel off.
2. remove brake caliper
3.remove rotor
4.remove whats holding bearing on. Either one big nut on outside or three to four bolts that hold it to the knukle.
this is how most cars are now,if its rear wheel drive its a peice of cake ,fwd is a little more difficult.
SOURCE: x-type jaguar automatic (gear box fault)
I have a 2002 X type (2 litre. done 44000 miles), dash showed gear box problem, (red circle light up). I pulled out and turned the engine off. 5 minutes later turned the engine on. The engine running but the car would not drive either in drive or reverse. Turned the engine off again and on the car driving but not much power. The care is taken to the Jag. dealer and told is misfiring + some gear box faults. Suggesting to change some coils and see (cost about £200+). also possible need to change the gear box costing about £2500+. Please advice. Shall I go ahead with the repair? Should I part exchange.
