Question about 1993 Suzuki Swift

Open Question

High idle speed and when the clutch is let out the motor cuts out

I have a Suzuki Swift 998cc and has developed the following problem: When I start the cold engine (clutch depressed) it idles OK until the engine temp reaches normal range. It then idles high and if I let the clutch out it drops to idle speed and stalls. When this occurred it also developed a high pitch tappet type sound in the motor. I took it to an auto electrician and he could not fix it (or wasn't really interested). Is it vacuum related or a solenoid or ???. Appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

My 1994 GTi was doing the same thing. The car should idle a bit fast when cold, say 1500rpm, due to the auto-choke. However, 2800rpm is too high. I had a look at my throttle system and could not workout how to adjust the auto-choke idle speed seperate from the normal idle. So I reluctantly had it serviced by the agents, they cleaned out the throttle body and adjusted it. It is better, 1900rpm, but still a bit high for my liking.

SOURCE: how to check gear box oil level

Remove the rock guard then look for the filler plug. Remove the plug and using your small finger, feel the level of the fluid. The fluid should be even with the bottom of the plug hole. If the fluid starts to ooze out when you open the plug, the level is alright.

How do I fix, bad idle in suzuki swift , check light on, no codes.

the title is contradiction
" check light on, no codes."<< totally wrong
scan it one more time with a REAL scan tool this time. (there are DTC errors , or codes as you said)

what does bad idle mean? misfiring, or idle speed too low
or too high? RPM, or
surging?

say what that means please.
and more important is engine hot or cold ? failing.???? or both????
there are over 50 causes.
but can be broken down to simple physics and gauges.
1: engine bad, lost compression.
2: engine cant breath, dirty air cleaner
3: ISC stuck closed or open or just stuck. (bad idle air supply)
4: bad spark, 1 or all 4 (never had a tune in this decade.
5: cam drive, slipped (belt) causing #1 failure.
6: air fuel mix too lean, and causes rpm drop and ISC fails.
7: air fuel mix too rich and misfires.
8: egr stuck open, it misfires and ISC gives up.
9: cat clogged, engine cant breath #2 like.
10: and the vast other reasons for misfire.

we cant drive it, see it or hear it misfire, so.....????

there is a test for all 10, ask. or get car serviced.

I have a 1993 Suzuki swift 5 speed. My son hit a dip in road hard it killed motor. Unable to pop the clutch

motor still dead, (my other shoe drops)
pop clutch, what does that mean.?

clutch is bad? what?
if you cant crank engine in gear, the clutch is bad.
hint, it can be the clutch actuators not the deep inside parts.

or does cant pop, mean
Car will crank but not start. so I pushed the car and popped the clutch in 2nd gear and it will not start either.

please post with all symptoms, pretend net bunny here are blind.
smart bunny's but totally freakn blind.

Engine code p0132

metro is a suzuki swift.
1997, is usa OBD2 spec car. so
what engine?
the P codes are relevant to only 1 engine , in all cars.
the metro was sold with 3 engines.
1.0 L LP2 I3
1.3 L L72 I4
1.3 L LY8 16-valve I4

which one? the L codes are GM codes.
the L72 is a Suzuki G13BA (my wild guess)
so what does 132 mean with that engine
here is the answer
O2 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank1, Sensor1)
the front sensor reads wrong. (the oxy readings are stuck HIGH)
sensor 1 means FRONT.

verbatim G13
Trouble Code Conditions:
Engine started, IAT sensor from 14-158F, ECT sensor more than 176?F, BARO sensor over 75 kPa, vehicle driven to a speed of over 35 mph for 2 minutes, followed by an idle period with the engine speed steady for 2 minutes, and the PCM detected the maximum HO2S signal was more than 600 mv during the CCM test.
Possible Causes:
  • HO2S is contaminated, damaged or it has failed
  • HO2S signal circuit shorted to power (check the heater circuit)
  • PCM has failed (never, i say)
or it fell off.
or the wires fell off
or the wires are melt, cut or burned to death
or are shorted. or , or , well just look.

or its just bad.

Suzuki swift gti 1996 starts but cuts out after 5 seconds

When starting/cranking, computer will activate fuel relay so that it will start. Once running there are fail safes built in - no oil pressure, bad signal from crank angle sensor or throttle position sensor, crash sensor activated (stops fuel pump) or even immobilizer faulty. Will it idle with Mass Air Flow sensor unplugged? Could be a broken wire or bad connector. Hope you have found problem by now! An auto electrician will find it very quickly.

My partner has a 2006 Suzuki Swift. When I started it cold. It seems to idle ok between 1.5 & 1.0 RPM. But when its warmed up normal range. It idles at about 2 RPM. happens everytime. any ideas on the...

the normal rpm is from 700 to 800. after 900 is too high since the car is runing too high at all times there is a vacum leak a hose or intake gasquet but check the idle valve may be stuk open

Well, depending on your market of course, I'd still be fairly sure you do have a choke! It is located on the rear of the intake air plenumn chamber and has 2 small coolant hoses that come up from underneath - one comes from the thermostat housing area, and the other goes to the water pump area. Disconnect these and make sure you can blow easily through the choke unit. Like most Suzuki thermo-wax choke elements, they need hot water to contract, and in so doing, reduce the amount of extra air let into the engine. Unfortunately, it sounds like you may have adjusted the throttle stopper screw (it may have had a tamper-proof cover on it). If you have, the throttle plate-to-barrel clearance should be set back to as close as what your other car is by measuring the clearance with feeler gages. Let me know how you get on. I've got a 1991 version of the same and I'm in Australia.
