Question about 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
With 185,000 miles on it, my I am without ovredrive in it. It does shift nice in all the other gears. It is a 4t65e transmission. What could it be?
You need to drive it with a scanner on it to see if the pcm is commanding 4th. If it is then it likely has a broken driveshaft to the 4th clutch. This is common on both the 4t60 and 4t65. You don't have to rebuild the whole trans to fix it but you do have to remove it from the car and remove the side cover, pump, valve body, and channel plate.
