I have a 2003 BMW 325CI, when i go to start it, it runs for like 5 seconds and then shuts off? would this be somthing to do with the fuel delivery? Runs smooth but just cuts out.

First thing to check is the fuel pressure, there is a scrader valve under the black fuel rail cover to the right of the valve cover, just pop off the small circle and take off the 10mm screw. Hook up a a fuel pressure guage, then turn the key to the start postion and check the guage. there should be about 3.5 bar of pressure (50psi). If it doesnt build up it could be the fuel pump of a clogged fuel filter. If all this is good, then it may be a bad mass air flow sensor.

Sounds to me like you have a wiring harness loose somewhere, or you have a short. Check to verify you have power at the fuse panel to the fuel pump and the instrument cluster (and, of coarse that all your fuses are good). It's also possible both problems are completely unrelated. Let us know what you find.

I just changed the two belts that run my engine and the water pump and the idler pulley. I have a 2003 bmw 325i. It was running great since we did the repairs for about 1 month now! Now all of a sudden my...

When you say that it tries to start but does not turn over - I interpret that to mean that the starter is cranking the engine, but the engine fails to start. Is that correct?
The ignition on these cars occasionally looses a single coil, but is not prone to loosing all ignition on all cylinders at once, so probability indicates that the problem is lack of fuel delivery.
This car is prone to two fuel delivery problems: 1) Failure of the fuel transfer pump that moves fuel from the driver side tank to the passenger side tank where the fuel delivery pump is located. If the car runs out of fuel when the gas gauge registers 1/4 full, and runs again if you add more fuel, this is the problem. 2) Failure of the fuel delivery pump. This is less common, but my wife's '04 330 lost a fuel pump at 80k miles, so it can happen.

Replace fuel filter and check fuel pump operation. Sounds like fuel starvation.

Location of oil filter on a bmw 325ci 2003

You really cannot mis it. It is at the front of the engine, top center. Black can-shaped housing. Unscrew the top of the housing and replace the paper element inside.
