Question about 2001 Dodge Dakota

1 Answer

I am trying to get the door panel off to fix my driver window. It came off the guide and won't roll up. I have 2001 Dodge Dakota. I have it unscrewed, but can't get it off the lock and the handle. What do I do next?

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

Where is power relay passenger window 2001 dakota xlt

if it was the relay all the windows would not work, that being said now lets try to find it so I am going to assume that you've tried both window switches the drivers master and the passenger door and no luck if you take off the door panel on the passenger door and run a hot wire to the window motors connector and if the window functions we have a bad switch contact on the master and possibly the passenger door disconnect the plugs and clean them and if the switches can be taken apart clean the inside of corrosion and re grease with carbon conductive grease or w d 40 /p b blaster if you have no window function when you do the hot wire and ground connection then the motor is bad and must be replaced

Hi, got a 93 dodge dakota. Having problems with drivers window. Whenever I roll it up or down, rather than going straight up or down, the window try to rotate 90 degrees (towards front) until it gets to a...

the track the window slides in has probably gotten loose or bent, or sometimes there's little rollers or guides that keep it in line have either worn out or have jumped off track. take the inside panel off, (you'll probably have to take the screw out of the handle and window crank and pry around the panel real easy trying not to break the clips). one place you can check to get a manual is to check your local library, sometimes they have manuals, here in Ohio if you have a library card you can access an online manual for free.

Window wont roll up

Hi my name is Allen!

When the window falls down it is because the cable for the regulator and motor broke. The only fix is a new regulator/motor assembly from the dealership, or a good one from the junk yard if you can find one.
