No but you do need to remove the back seat to unplug the fuel level sending unit wires before dropping the tank.

1995 Mitsubishi mirage. no gas to fuel injector and i do not hear the fuel pump when i turn on the ignition switch. also gas tank is full and the fuel gage reads empty on the dash board. can not locate...

i would replace the fuel pump. and the reason your gas gage is not reading what it is supposed to be is because the sending unit is prob bad. both of which are in the gas tank. im not sure on that year but i think you can remove the back seat or a piece of the trunk to get to both of them. if not the gas tank will need to be dropped to get them out

No fuel pressure, does this car have an electric fuel pump in the tank?

Yes the fuel pump is located in the gas tank .There is a access panel under the rear seat .So the rear bottom part of the seat has to be removed.Push on the front of the rear seat while lifting up that should loosen the seat so it will come out then you will see the access panel to get to the fuel pump.

Wondering how to access the fuel pump on Stanza 1990 xe. Heard it's either access from back seat or must drop tank or something. I'm not a mechanic!

I just did this job this week you get to the fuel pump by taking out the back seat and there is a floor plate held down with some bolts. Take them out. Lift plate and there you will find the fuel pump. No need to drop the tank!

How to replace a fuel filter for a Mitsubishi Mirage 2000

There is pressure...you have to remove the rear seat cushion, then remove the service cover and then detach the fuel pump harness connector.Start the car and allow it to run until the engine stalls.Turn the key to off position. Then disconnect the negative battery cable, attach the fuel pump connector, and install the access cover. Now place shop rags or towels around the fitting that is being disconnected. Loosen the filter feed pipe flare nut on the bottom of the filter.Seperate the flare nut from the filter. If equiped, remove and discard the gakets. remove the mounting bolts and remove the filter.if necessary remove the filter bracket. To install: install the filter to it's bracket only finger tight. Make sure the flow arrow is in the right direction. Make sure new O rings are installed prior to installation. Insert the filter feed pipe to the lower connection of the filter and manually screw in the main pipe's fare nut. While holding the fuel filter nut with a back-up wrench, tighten the banjo bolt to 22 ft pounds and tighten the flare nut to 25 with a back-up wrench on the nut. tighten the filter mounting bolts to 10 ft. pounds. Connect negative battery cable. turn key on to pressurize the fuel system and check for leaks. If repairs on the fuel system are needed remember to release the pressure before opening the fuel system. Hope this helps. Good luck!
