Clicking is sign of low voltage being delivered to starter/ solenoid.

Low voltage is caused by multiple things...

1. Battery condition/age.
2. Loose or corroded terminals or connections.

Highly Likely to be the solenoid.
But first make sure the battery is fully charged.

My 1996 nissan truck is not starting its just making a clicking sound and pulling the battery down i've charged the battery and try to start the truck but all i get is a drained battery and a clicking...

Providing the cable ends are clean and tight, either the battery is no good, or the starter is no good. I would try switching batteries first, (borrow one) and if it makes no difference, change the starter.

WONT START, BATTERY IS UP. MAKES CLICKING SOUND.

if the clicking sound comes from the solenoid when you try to start the engine the solenoid may need replacing, the solenoid is like a big switch that takes the power from the battery to the starter motor, inside it there contacts that come together to make contact & that is where the problem is.....hope this helps.....cheers

Wont start funny clicking sound when i turn the key ???

Hi!!

The clicking you are hearing, is the sound of a weak battery, Jump start the vehicle and take it to an AutoZone for a Charging System check.

Good Luck!!

My 1999 new beetle won't start

Sounds like the battery is dead..Sometimes you have to clean the jumper cables and terminal on the battery to make a good connection try that and let your battery charge for a few minutes before trying to start it. If that doesnt work you may have a seized starter! Good Luck!

2005 Ford Escape does not start, makes clikcing sound

sounds like the starter solenoid is defective, the contacts inside the solenoid get worn from electrical arching and then a no start occurs, the indication is a fairly loud clicking noise when you try to start the engine.

If it only makes the clicking sound during these unsuccesful start attempts, I would look at the battery, terminals on the top of it, the cables, then, barring problems there, replace the starter...accordianman
