Sounds like it has seized up.1 check for oil, if none, bottom end seizure. 2 check fan belt on dynamo, if very loose or broken, probable piston to barrel seizure, with it being air cooled.

Try to spin the pulley with you're hands or a tool, if u cant spin it the engine probably froze because there was no oil.

1969 with 351 Windsor stock engine. Once it reaches 1,500 rpms why do the tach & engine jump up and down?

If this is a points type ignition, check for excess play side to side in the distributor shaft, and also for timing chain slack--easily tested by removing dist. cap and rotating engine back and forth with wrench on crank pulley bolt. If rotor doesn't move immediately as crank turns you have loose timing chain.

Loosing power at cruising speed

Hi. I have two Dynasty LE cars, (a 91 and a 93). Both have the 3.3 litre. The 1991 had almost the same problem as yours except it would only do it once the engine warmed up, (similar to your freeway issue, given distance and time for the engine to warm up to operating temp.) I had it in about three shops before the dealer found an intermittent fault with the cam and crank sensors. I replaced them and now it runs just fine. I hope this helps.
