2004 chevy silverado hd battery problem

I have two batteries in my truck and one keeps dying and the other one is fully changed, but the truck never pulls off the new battery to start my truck. I heard their is a fuse inbetween the batteries and it might be blown. I looked everywhere to find this fuse... no luck.

Did anyone ever had this problem, and does anyone know where the fuse is for the batteries.

Why is my battery draining in my 2004 chevy 2500 HD

Lots of reasons ! The most common cause of battery drain on a good battery is leaving an accessory on (courtesy light?). A pure guess with no information would be the starter is on its' last legs. It might be the alternator or there could be a short to ground from corrosion/age. There are lots of troubleshooting guides on the web for a battery draining, here is an example:

The volt gauge reads 14 volts when the truck is running (2004 Chevy 2500 HD, 6 Liter) after I shut it off Voltage gauge reads 9 volts as low as the gauge goes. The starter acts like it is not getting...

14 volts is close (14.5-14.8 volts is required
and 9 when shut down indicates a bad battery
have it load tested and then have the alternator tested for rectifier pack operation
there should be 14.5 volts DC at the battery when running or it is not charging the battery
if you have 14 volts AC replace the alternator with a serviceable unit

Start with the simple things first. Check connections at starter and battery, check connection of main ground cable. Operate your test again at outside at night (in the dark) and have person watch the engine compartment for sparks which are easy to see at night. Always diagnose problem from the source, and check to make sure solenoid on starter is good, also that clearances are correct and starter is not binding when it tries to rotate.

2008 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD will not start

Are both batteries fully charged showing 12v? I ask this because I don't know if your friend's vehicle was charging. If it wasn't then when you put that battery back in your system it would reduce your overall voltage.

04 chevy silverado 1500 starts up and dies soon after. Not alternator nor battery. Help!

GM has had issues with their security chip shutting down cars and trucks because it thinks it's being stolen. Check with service department at the dealers to see about any recalls.
