How did I get water in my 2001 Ford Taurus heater blower?

I started having problems with my heater in my 2001 Ford Taurus . Turns out that there was a shortage with the heater blower. The mechanic told me that it was filled with water, that's why it probably blew out. Another problem my passenger side floor is soak with water. Could these problems be related and where is the water coming from? Help..

Hello, it sounds like your heater core has busted and leaking inside the car. The water in your blower may be coming from the heater care also. to be sure you can get a ethyl glycol(antifreeze) tester . Thank you

My 2001 ford Taurus does not have heat, or front defrost. But my back defrost works. No matter what setting it's on, it blows cold air. I can't recall it even working this past summer with ac. I just...

The back or rear defrost is an electric grid that works independently of the heater. If replacing the thermostat produced heat, you would seemed to have solved the problem but the heater blower could still be at fault. If you can't detect warm air actually blowing into your Taurus the blower is a likely suspect. A faulty blower also would affect your A/C.

possibly the bled door is stuck open so only the cold air from a/c works when on defrost vs closing to allow heat to cycle through the system as defrost runs through the a/c system

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus. It recently started to smell when the heater is on. The weeping hole under the water pump had a slight drip at the bottom. I added a little water, since the coolant was only...

The smell of the antifreeze is coming from the drip in the water pump hitting the hot engine block and burning off.
The water pump bearing seal is bad and will Begin to get worse.
You can get away with this problem for a little while but you will continue to have the smell until you fix the water pump,
Hope this help give feedback and good luck FixYa

No heat in 99 ford taurus

if the ac still works and the heater turns on but blows cold air it is the heater core, if it does not blow at all its the blower motor

I have a 2001 Taurus and the heater isn't working,

You might want to check the temperature control switch. I have a problem with mine and believe that is the problem. My switch just goes round and round. If you are careful you can find a spot that produces heat.

Which fuse operates the ac & heater blower on a 2001 ford Taurus. Box is under the hood with many empty socket and no diagram.

There is a fuse box inside the car to the left of the steering column. fuse 228 10 amp and fuse 208 40 amp. Check power to the blower motor connector. Check for water in blower. I have seen water get into blower motor and short out. Good luck I hope this helps.

Ford taurus Wagon 2001 heater problem

Check your coolant level. If the antifreeze is low the water pump may not be able to pump enough of the coolant through your heater core. When the car runs faster it is able to pump more of the warm antifreeze to the heater core.
